Kate (Ryan) heads to France to surprise her fiance Charlie (Hutton). The trip is a disaster from the start, as she is terrified of flying, and the man seated next to her, Luc (Kline), tries his best to irritate her, and it doesn't stop when she gets off the plane. Having used her to smuggle something, Luc must now follow Kate. So he is there when she arrives at Charlie's hotel and finds him kissing another woman.

Kate goes off the deep end, and Luc helps her plan her revenge on Charlie.

Very sweet, funny, and romantic! I can't do it justice and of course I don't want to give anything away!

Good stuff. This is one of those musicals that I put in and half-watch. I know my favorite parts and musical sequences and for the rest of it, I kinda--well, write movie reviews and think of other things. I love Gene, but this one does get boring, and I admit it. Especially during the 20 minute ballet at the end. I'm not kidding.

Still--Oh, to have danced with Gene!!

Jerry Mulligan (Kelly) is an ex-GI living in Paris, enjoying the beautiful city and painting it all in his own way. When a wealthy woman buys one of his paintings, he attends a party with her, where he catches sight of Lise (Caron), and falls for her. But wooing her isn't as easy as he had hoped, especially after he finds out she is engaged.

FACT: Leslie Caron was actually discovered by Gene Kelly, and it was for this role.

I love this comedy! Murder, spies, romance, suspense, missing money! Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn! What else could you want?

Charles Lampert is murdered, leaving behind a widow, Reggie (Hepburn), confused and homeless. Having planned on divorcing him, Reggie isn't heartbroken, just confused, especially when a CIA agent contacts her, and tells her that her husband was wanted by the US government for stealing $250,000, and that his real name wasn't Lampert. He tells her to look for the money, and the search produces nothing, which doesn't help Reggie because she soon finds out it's not only the CIA who are after the money! And Peter isn't who he seems to be!

Okay, that is the best I can do for a short synopsis without copying someone else's. Basically it's brilliant, and I recommend it without reservations! Watch it! If you are a fan of Audrey Hepburn, it is a must see. Ditto Cary Grant. Ditto classic films.
